Ritlandskrateret

We were so lucky during this holiday! We had expected a pretty rainy holiday, but most days were completely dry and sometimes the sun would come out. Today, the weather was wonderful.

The Ritlandskrateret is a place where a meteorite crashed 500 million years ago. You can walk there following the signs, it’s no easy terrain, but the hike is relatively short. There is a hut where you can enjoy the view of the crater:

When we were there, there were hardly any other hikers, so we had the hut all to ourselves.

You can return by the same path, or take another path which leads through a ‘magical forest’ all covered in moss.
