Traveling from Edinburgh to Milngavie took longer than I had expected. There is a frequent bus service between Edinburgh Airport and Glasgow. From Glasgow you can travel by train to Milngavie, but as I was already at the bus station, I took the bus. So far, it went quite well. But then I wandered around a lot to finally find Bankell Farm Campsite. I was in no hurry, so it wasn’t a problem.
It’s a very basic campsite and quite a long (and boring) walk from town. If you go and camp there, make sure you have eaten in town beforehand so that you don’t have to walk back and forth again. The campsite itself has no shop or bar, just showers. Good showers, spacious and hot. The area is very quiet, all you hear is birds and sheep.
When I camped there, there was only one other tent: coincidentally, it belonged to a Dutch woman. She too was going to do the WHW.
